Short Form #1

For students of Kenpo who have a working knowledge of Short Form #1, the following questions are offered as an opportunity for you to organize your thoughts about the form.

  1. What is the definition of a Kenpo "form"?

  2. How does a Kenpo "form" differ from a Kenpo "set"?

  3. What are several things that Short Form #1 teaches?

  4. What is the theme of Short Form #1?

  5. What symbol can be used as a reference tool for the footwork pattern of Short Form #1?

  6. What is the major power principle demonstrated in Short Form #1?

  7. Why do we not perform the formal salutation at the beginning and end of this form?

  8. Which of the blocks in Short Form #1 is different from the other blocks?  What makes it different?

  9. What is the name of the first stance used in Short Form #1?

  10. What is the complete name of the first block in the form?

Once again, my heartfelt thanks to my Instructor, Mr. Steve White, for teaching me an understanding of Mr. Parker's Kenpo system.
