Romans

Romans 1

v05: Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name,

The Just Live by Faith

v16: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

v20: For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

v25: who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

v27: Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

v28: And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

Romans 2

The Fairness of God's Judgment

v01: Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.

v04: Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

v11: For there is no partiality with God.

v29: but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.

Romans 3

v04: Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is written: "That You may be justified in Your words, and may overcome when You are judged."

v12: They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one."

v23: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 4

v17: (as it is written, "I have made you a father of many nations") in the presence of Him whom he believed--God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;

v21: and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.

Romans 5

Faith Triumphs in Trouble - Death in Adam, Life in Christ

v01: Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

v03: And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;

v04: and perseverance, character; and character, hope.

v08: But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

v09: Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

v15: But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.

Romans 6

v12: Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.

v13: And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

v14: For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

v23: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 7

v05: For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death.

Sin's Advantage in the Law

v07: What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, "You shall not covet."

v19: For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.

Romans 8

Salvation from Sin, Death, and Suffering

v01: There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

v08: So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

v11: But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

From Suffering to Glory

v18: For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

v26: Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

v28: And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

v29: For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

God's Everlasting Love

v31: What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

v32: He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

v37: Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

v39: nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 9

v07: nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, "In Isaac your seed shall be called."

v17: For the Scripture says to the Pharaoh, "For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth."

v18: Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.

v20: But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, "Why have you made me like this?"

v21: Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?

v33: As it is written:  "Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense, and whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame."

Romans 10

v09: that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

v10: For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

v11: For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame."

v13: For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved."

Israel Rejects the Gospel

v14: How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

v17: So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 11

v07: What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

v08: Just as it is written: "God has given them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see and ears that they should not hear, to this very day."

v19: You will say then, "Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in."

v24: For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

v29: For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

Romans 12

Living Sacrifices to God - Christians Should Lead Transformed Lives

v01: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

v02: And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Serve God with Spiritual Gifts

v03: For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

v06: Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;

v07: or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching;

v10: Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;

v14: Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

v16: Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.

v17: Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.

v18: If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

v19: Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord.

v20: Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head."

v21: Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Romans 13

Submit to Government - Obey Authorities; Love Your Neighbor; Put on Christ

v01: Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.

v02: Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.

v03: For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.

v05: Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience' sake.

v07: Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.

Love Your Neighbor

v08: Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.

Romans 14

v02: For one believes he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables.

v03: Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God has received him.

v04: Who are you to judge another's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.

v11: For it is written: "As I live, says the LORD, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God."

v12: So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.

v13: Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother's way.

v22: Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.

v23: But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.

Romans 15

Bearing Others' Burdens - Paul's Ministry to the Gentiles

v01: We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

v04: For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

v05: Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus,

Glorify God Together

v07: Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God.

v13: Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 16

Avoid Divisive Persons

v17: Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.

v18: For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.

v20: And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
